VincentO'B Posted January 3, 2010 Posted January 3, 2010 I am posting this to help others. I have just spent about two hours pulling my hair out trying to add 7 days to a date field, I was trying to auto enter in a date field. When what I should have done is defined the field as a calculation unstored of type date the calculation was 'MyDateField+7' There easy when you know how, judging by the amount of posts about date calcs Filemaker could do a little more to make this clear, if this saves anyone a considerable amount of time send me some money. Thanks
comment Posted January 3, 2010 Posted January 3, 2010 (edited) There's no reason (that I can see) for the calculation to be unstored. And auto-enter (though not the best choice) should work just as well - so perhaps there's some additional element that you haven't mentioned. Edited January 3, 2010 by Guest
VincentO'B Posted January 3, 2010 Author Posted January 3, 2010 Your probably right about the unstored. The auto enter, I tried everything. The date field was from a related Table but I tried recreating it in that table just in case I had made a an error, but it made no difference.
Lee Smith Posted January 3, 2010 Posted January 3, 2010 Search your [color:blue]Online Help (when FileMaker is open) for [color:blue]Future Dates, there is an example of your calculation. Lee
