El_Pablo Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 It would be nice if FM add a bookmark feature in the relationships graph. I'm developping a project with 470+ Table occurence. Having the possibility to jump from one part of the graph to another would help a lot for project of this size.
David Jondreau Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 You can make your own. With that many TOs you might as well make a table for bookmarking. The relationship graph has a "type ahead" feature, so you start typing and the graphs jumps to the TO with that name. You'll need to come up with a Bookmarking naming convention to coordinate with your regular TO naming convention.
El_Pablo Posted January 14, 2010 Author Posted January 14, 2010 Thanks! I always thought there was no "type ahead" but single character only. I have already tried before and it didn't seemed to work now it does. What do you mean by using a bookmarking table? Is that a kind of empty table where only the name is used?
David Jondreau Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 Yah, just a table, called Bookmarks. No fields needed. Drop TOs of Bookmarks above your modules or however you have your graph organized. Name those TOs according to convention that doesn't conflict with your general TO naming (or complements it), like zzCRM, zzInvoices. Then simply type "zzC" and focus will jump to that TO.
El_Pablo Posted January 14, 2010 Author Posted January 14, 2010 Thanks for the hint! But why not use labels instead?
David Jondreau Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 Because I could have sworn that notes(labels) didn't respond to type ahead. But I just tested it, and they do! That's much easier.
