Job Nos

The job no on my database is generated by Filemaker. This is no problem.

My boss wants to use the same job no on 3 or 4 records. I can put this in manually., trouble is it seems to carry information like calculations from the original record.

by changing the job no all works. is there any way we can do this?

It sounds as though you are using the job no field as the primary key field for relationships. This is not good: the primary key must be unique and non-variant.

Instead, create an auto-entered serial number field and use it for the primary key. Continue to use the job no field as you current do, it will be safe now because no relationships depend on it.
