Popup as first field in a portal

Featured Replies

Hello

I want to use a popup menu as the first field in a portal. But it seems impossible to select it. I have a "No value defined" whenever I want to use it. If I put another field let's say to enter a quantity before the popup then everything goes well. Is it normal or am I missing something?

In the respect of the design of this layout I want to make a portal with only one field... the popup menu.

Thank you

Hello Zab,

I believe that the value list which the pop-up is based upon, might pull its value from the existing relationship between that parent record and the portal record. And there must be a relationship before it can display a value. Just a guess but it feels like there is 'Allow Creation of related' on the portal and once you enter ANY value, it creates the related record. And then the value list can display the selections.

But this all guess and it would help to have more information or, better yet, a small demo file showing only the fields, relationships and value list involved. :smile2:

I'm not too sure why it does that. The portal works perfectly. Anyway I don't have much time to search for the problem ( I have to finish that project this week) and I used the FastCreate option made by Kieran MacMillan. It's way better anyway.

Thanks for the answer

Zab
