opening Stand Alone Databases

Featured Replies

Hello,

I am developing a stand alone database, but I am unhappy with the time it takes to open. When I double click on the application it takes over a minute to open.

The database is designed to be used on PC's, the file with most of the data is about 45MB. The remaining (6) databases are all under 2Mb. I am using developer5.

Are there any tricks to get the program to open faster?

TIA,

Jerry

Mark,

My computer has W98SE loaded. With 64MB ram (resources are about 50% of this), and my hard drive has about 8G and is full (300MB left). (I guess I should clean it up, I will do that right now)

If that helps I will post. (I don't think it will since I tried it on another machine, same specs but the HD is probably not as full)

change your pc

Are you opening all the databases at once? Try opening just the main file, and let the others open through relationships.
