yodamusic Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 I am tying to Filter my list view with only results that are not marked "Complete" I have a status checkbox field that shows a tasks' status (received, assigned, estimate complete, work complete, etc.) I want to use check boxes so we can see the progress of the case, and if I use radio buttons, when its completed I can't see if it had been quoted, declined, etc. When I go to list view, however, I want the layout to only show a one word summary of the status. The problem is, what order they are clicked in affects the order of the result text, but I always want the last item in the list to show up as status, and not show any that are already completed. I would have liked different color results, but this whole process seems more and more complicated, so i would be happy just to get the status correct. I tried restricting the user to checking the boxes in order, but I can't get this validation to work either. I have tried copying script steps in from other examples in the forums, but my understanding of the exact text to enter in scripts in quite limited. Thanks for listening.
efen Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 Use radio buttons so that latest value is shown in list view. Create a status history field and create a script that sets this field via script using trigger OnObjectModify: Set field status history; status history & ¶ & status This will give a history of what has been selected
yodamusic Posted February 12, 2010 Author Posted February 12, 2010 Thank you so much, Efen! It took me a minute, but I got it to work. One last item: is it possible to filter the list page so it won't show completed tasks? I have the task list page script set to enter find mode, but I'm not sure how to set a filter instead of a find, so it removes the completed, instead of only showing those.
efen Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 Create a script that omits the complete records that is run when you go to list view. form.zip
