Date from a Portal

Featured Replies

Hello everyone. I'm assuming this is a calculation question but if not I'm sorry..

I have a database I'm using for my firearms which contains info. about maint. and cleaning in two seperate portals just so I could keep track of them better. Now what I'm looking for is to pull the last date the firearm was cleaned and had maint. done on it automatically.

Can this be done? Or is this another item I need to have to calculate manually for each record? I can't seem to engage the brain in order to figure this out. I'm sure it's stupidly simple that I will kick myself after the first response! :

So I thank you in advance!

I assume that these cleaning and maintenance records are in related tables?

Why not sort the portals by date descending so that the last maintenance/cleaning date is always at the top of the portal?

Yes the are related tables. And I am going to make the portals sorted. I was just trying to bring that date up front as that portal is on another tab is all. It's not a real big deal actually. Just one of those wouldn't it be nice things is all...

Have a 1 row portal (without any enclosing lines or scroll bars) with the date field in it on the tab/layout where you want it to show. Again sort this portal date descending - thus you have the latest date of cleaning/maintenance

OMG!! Duh!!!!!! Now why the hell didn't I think of that!?!?!?!? O.K. Now I feel totally stupid. I'm so sorry... I really need to stop making this harder than what it needs to be!

Thank you so very much! I'm bowing out and eating some humble pie...
