Send Event to play music file

Featured Replies

Hi All,

I wanted to know if it is possible to use Send Event script step to play a music file without having to attach the file to any field

Any help will be very much appreciated!

In a word, yes. Provided that the music file type is associated with an appropriate application to play it.

Thanks efen,

What do I need to put in Send Event dialog to tell it to play a wav file on Windows Media Player?

Create a script that sets a variable to the name and filepath of the file that you want to play with the next step Send event. The variable name should be used in the Send event dialog

Once again thanks efen!

I've done this and it works except that when the .wav file plays it starts AND shows the Windows Media Player window and brings it to the front despite that the Bring the target application to foreground is unchecked!

Ideally I'll prefer if it’s possible to play this file without seeing WMP at all.
