Forcing data in portal rows

Featured Replies

I have a file with day names and I want to force them in a specific portal row in the related file.

Monday on row 1, thuesday on 2 etc.... If monday doesn't exist I want the portalrow to be empty.

Any tips ?

Create a stored calculation field in your related file:

Order (calculation, indexed) =

Day(Date) <-- or whatever you need to get the days in the order you want.

In you main file define the relationship to sort on this field.

I too sometimes wish that Monday didn't exist. But alas, you can't have a blank row at the top of your portal unless a related record does in fact exist to put there. So you'll need to create the related record for Monday, just don't put data in any of the fields that display in your portal. To the untrained eye, Monday won't exist!
