April 6, 201015 yr I know I should know this, but I forget how to open a file without letting the opening script (set in File Options) execute. It's control-something, right? Also, has anybody also come up with a good system to manage opener files?
April 6, 201015 yr I've never heard of the Ctrl key to stop the opening script from running... One way to bypass the opening script is to call another script directly: from another file, perform a script in the other file. This will open the window and run the script, then leave the window open (unless the script closes it).
April 7, 201015 yr Author I'm pretty sure there's a trick that doesn't involve escape. Unless I'm thinking about auto-logging in with user name and password.
April 7, 201015 yr The Option key on Macs and Shift key on Windows forces the authentication dialog to come up to around the auto-login dialog. I've missed the bleedin' obvious: turn on the script debugger before opening the file and click the big red X when the script appears.
April 7, 201015 yr I was going to say that, but didn't think it was available pre-10. I can't keep track anymore.
April 8, 201015 yr Author Thanks for all the great suggestions! (Unfortunately, we're not always opening the file in a place where we have FM Advanced.) Ultimately, I think we'll end up creating something to open the opener so as not to trigger the opening script.
