Layout Symbols

Hi all

A very newbie question here. I'm trying to create an invoice using a demo file as a template which can be found at this link:

http://fmforums.com/forum/showpost.php?post/309136/

I have setup tables similar to those in the demo file apart from naming convention. I have created a value list for contacts which shows both contact and contact id by using the second field option.

When I add fields to my layout in layout mode I get little magnifying glass icons next to the added fields. Some are green, some are yellow.

I'm assuming the fields that are green are for fields from the table that the layout is based on and yellow are from other tables. Could somebody please clarify this?

On the demo invoice layout there are little yellow and green blobs rather than magnifying glasses on some fields. Could somebody please inform me what these represent?

Thanks in advance

Lee

The icons are indicating quick find for those fields is available, if you wish not to see them go to View then show quick find and uncheck, you can also turn this off in layout options. You can also remove the quick find field in the too bar by right clicking on the tool bar in browse mode.

A completely useless addition to FM IMHO.

Type quick find in help for all details.

Thanks Rod

I'll trust your opinion that it is useless. I'll use the default.

Thanks again
