Hi all

I have created a layout that creates an order within my database. I would like to create a button on that layout so that when I press 'Submit' Filemaker will create an invoice that is printable and reduce my stock levels by the appropriate amount.

I'm sure that this is a function that Filemaker has been used for many times.

Does anyone have any resources they know of that I can look at, i.e a tutorial or a demo database? Or can anybody point me in the right direction on what I should be doing?

Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Have you looked at the Invoice template that comes with FileMaker 11? Check that out, and also look at this: http://www.geistinteractive.com/content/inventory-transactions

Thanks for the help.

I had looked at the template but there seemed to lot going on for a newbie to database design.

I found a very simplified stock control system demo but didn't save the url. I have the zip file containing the demo but I will have to find somewhere to upload it.

I found the Filemaker Pro 9 Bible by Ray Cologon to be a useful resource for anyone wanting to create an inventory system that controls stock and allows you to order goods from suppliers and invoice customers. If you follow the guide you can tweek the solution it to suit your needs quite easily whilst learning most elements of Filemaker itself.

I am assuming the example files can be found at the above link. They should be of some help.
