rain_girl Posted April 29, 2010 Posted April 29, 2010 I am doing a project for a client. They are using fms 8 on a pc server. I built the project in fm10. The file has the extension .fp7, sharing is turned on, accounts have fm network access. The server says the file is open and normal but no one can connect to it (open remote file dialog is NOT checked). Any suggestions??? This is baffling since the server says the files are normal. BTW, the server is properly hosting out other files so it is not a connection issue.
Vaughan Posted April 29, 2010 Posted April 29, 2010 Check that the user accounts have the fmnet privilege enabled, and that the sharing for the file is enabled.
Wim Decorte Posted April 30, 2010 Posted April 30, 2010 make sure the fmapp extended privilege is toggled on for all the privilege sets for active accounts. Also check the event log to see if FMS reports any issues with the files. Can you actually see the file in the open remote dialog?
IdealData Posted April 30, 2010 Posted April 30, 2010 If you developed in v10 but the client uses v8 server then there may be some features you have used that will not work - even with v10 clients. This is not related to your question but you should be aware of the possible problems.
