Gambler
What is best way to install a FMP runtime application on a windows PC? Do I need to use Install Shield, or some other windows installation product?? When installing an FMP runtime application, is the windows registry modified??? Can you offer any tips/tricks to insure smooth windows installation for users of our FMP application??? Thank you.
SteveB
It depends upon what you want the user to be able to do and see. An FM runtime is a fairly simple thing to install...however if you want icons and entries in the start menu and an uninstall procedure, I would use an installer. InstallShield isn't user friendly and is very expensive. Look at Setup Factory from IndigoRose at www.indigorose.com. It is very easy to use and will keep users from screwing things up. It's also inexpensive.
