Hi everyone,

I would like to have my date and time generated automatically for fields Date and Time. I have already created these two fields and have been transferring some old data into them, but I don't know if I can change the input type to auto enter after I'm done with all the data transfer.

So to sum up, I have two fields Date, Time with some old data from the past, and would like to have these defined as auto enter fields for the future data input. Is it possible? if yes, how?

Yes, you can change them. Why would you think you can't? FileMaker is famous (some think infamous) for how easy it is to make changes. Turning on the checkbox for auto-enter will not trigger any changes to the data you have already entered.

Thanks, BruceR : I wasn't sure since I might end up leaving some date and time fields empty for the old data part and will auto generate new ones for the future input. Would that screw up things? I was trying to test it but couldn't find the auto-enter checkbox you mentioned? Please enlighten me. Thanks :
