SC standalone on windows 2003

Featured Replies

Hi,

I want to try the demo of SC before purchasing it. How can I start SC.jar without logging into an account?

It will be installed on our Windows Server 2003 VPS.

Thank you

SuperContainerServer.jar is our stand-alone application deployment of SuperContainer. In order to run this particular deployment you must log in as a user and run the application. This can be set to be done automatically when you start up your computer, if you like.

As an alternative, you can deploy SuperContainer with FileMaker Server or Tomcat. These two deployment options do not require that a user be logged in and that a particular application be started. SuperContainer will run as part of FMS or Tomcat, which will be running as services on your computer.

You can read about the different deployment methods in the documentation.html file which came with your download of SuperContainer.

When I run the installer I get this screen :

We are using FMS11. I ran the Deployment Assistant, but nothing happened.

Do you have the web publishing engine deployed on that machine? SuperContainer needs to be deployed on whatever machine your WPE is hosted on.

Your other option is installing Tomcat from tomcat.apache.org and running SuperContainer with it. Take a look at Option 3 deployment in the documentation.

Ok, so I decided to run it standalone instead of FMS. I installed it using Tomcat.

Thanks Valentin
