"Conditional" Value Lists

Featured Replies

Hi.

I am not sure if I am writing in the correct area, but I cannot seem to find this question/answer anywhere else in the forum either.

I have a need to draw up a quoting system. The process will involve selecting items from a list, but there will be subcategories and I am unsure how to narrow the searches down.

For example.

First drop down box will list a major category e.g. "timber". From there, I want the next drop don box to only display a list related to timber - such as "pine", "oak" etc. The third drop down list to only list standard sizes of whatever is available for pine, oak etc.

I am unsure how to structure the tables and/or value lists to achieve this, and then the scripting involved in only displaying relevant items in the second and then third drop down lists. Bear in mind that there will be numerous quoted items on the same page.

This is doing my head in. Can anybody please suggest a method by which I can do this.

Many thanks in advance.

Cheers,

Greg

Hi BCooney,

Thankyou for your response. I saw a few similar questions but never came across a full answer - only discussions about it.

Thanks for pointing this one out to me.

Cheers,

Greg
