Inserting picture as a reference question in FM 11

Featured Replies

Is there anything in the new version for Filemaker to find the Jpeg if the original Jpeg was moved and it was store in a filemaker record as a reference?

Is there maybe a plugin or something that can find the jpeg and restore the link?

Nothing new. Can you recalc the path?

i wouldn't even know how to do this, but the jpeg could move between 5 different folders.

I should check the internet for plugins..

Nestor,

FM stores a path to the referenced image. Insert File with Save as Reference checked captures that path.

There is no way to have FM "find" a referenced file if the path is broken. You need to update the path stored in FM to the correct path.

Why are the files moving (outside of FM)?

As for plugins that handle files outside of FM, the most referenced (I haven't used it, personally) is 360works Supercontainer. However, that too will expect the file to not be moved unless FM is informed.

You are in luck. I had the same problem and found the solution here:

I was able to use this script to embed the pictures into my database.
