I've found answers from this forum MANY times - thank you for all of those quick fixes!

I couldn't find this one, and needed to start a thread to see if someone can help me knock this one out?

No changes have been made to the database, but the "Expiration Date" field of the parent record is no longer providing results of any kind (Static or Range Search) despite there being many valid records that I have verified should show up.

I've looked at the button setup and all of those options, but can't find anything that looks like it wouldn't produce results. Any suggestions on this one?

Thanks so much!

Way too little information.

"I've looked at the button setup..."

OK. Are you going to *tell us* about it?

It would probably be best if you can provide an example file.

Thanks for the reply. Can't give a sample file unfortunately, but here is what I have for ya...

Setup- Field Set Up: Display as EDIT BOX

Behavior - Allow field to be entered in Browse and Find Mode, no other options are selected.

Button Setup - Do Nothing

Hi Todd, and welcome to the forum.

It sounds like you were intending to attach a file. As Bruce states, not much for us to go on.

If you are having trouble uploading a file, maybe this link will help you.

If you cannot upload your original you will need to create a simplified version that illustrates the problem and the goal that you are trying to achieve. Nobody can do anything at all with the information you have provided so far.

A number of years ago I had this happen on a file after the client had severe power problems. The field seemed to have lost all indexing for some reason.

1. Enter layout mode and go to your field definitions, to the applicable date field. Make it totally unstored and then leave the Tables/Fields/Relationships section of the program. Also go back to Browse mode.

2. Go into layout mode again and back into field definitions, the date field and again go to storage and this time select "index all" or whatever the terminology is (Not in front of FMP right now) and again leave the Tables/Fields/Relationships section of the program and leave layout mode for browse mode.

Then try searching and see if your search is re-established.

I don't know if it will work, but it should not bolix anything anyway.
