August 1, 201015 yr Hi all, we're about to migrate from a FM Server 9 running on a Mac G4 with a SCSI setup, to FileMaker Server 11 on a new machine. We're thinking of the latest Mac mini or the new low-end iMac - external FW hard drive for backup or a Drobo. Any thoughts on which machine would be the best suitable for our needs?! 3 databases with a total of 10-15 people. Thanks in advance Anders
August 1, 201015 yr FWIW I recently installed the previous version Mac Mini but replaced the HD with 64GB solid state drive and upped the memory to 4GB max. FMS 11, 40+ DBs, 30+ users - runs sweet! With only 3Dbs and 10-15 users the new Mac Mini should handle it easily as they put in a proper HD now. Make sure you get 4GB RAM as Snow Leopard won't run in 64-bit mode otherwise. If you don't have a DVI monitor then get the MiniDisplay -> VGA adapter as well.
