Hi, I'm trying to classify my datas into 3 categories:

1. no. of doses by year

2. no. of doses by species

3. no. of doses by breed

the problem is that I tried to do the exact same thing than into the CD, the file called Demo 07_2, which consist to have a name and a number. Only that. For instance, I would like it to appear like this:

1.

2006 (number of doses)

2007 (number of doses)

2008 (number of doses)

etc etc.

2.

Bovine (number of doses)

Horse (number of doses)

etc etc.

3.

Polled Hereford (Number of doses)

Colonial Horse (Number of doses)

etc etc.

But when I tried it, I still had 5000 datas, instead of the number of years or breed or species I have.

Do you have any ideas of how I could manage my database to look the way I want it?

Welcome to the forum, s-A.

Not sure what your tables are and how they are related. That would be helpful to know. If you could show us that, we could help you to create the report.

Sounds like you need a subsummary report, perhaps more than one.

All the informations I have are into one single table, and I guess I will need to have 3 subsummaries report.

And sorry, I'm not able to send it on this topic, I tried to saved my file as PDF one, but it takes way to much time It is already doing 20 minutes I'm waiting for it.

Thanks for the answer!

From your description, one table isn't enough.

You don't need to post your file, just a diagram of the tables or a screen shot of the Relationship Graph.

However, reviewing subsummary reports will definitely apply to your requirements.

This is completely wrong, as far as I can tell. Separating table occurrences does not group your data. I think that you think that is what will happen.

You seem to have self-joins (relating a table to itself) by fields that will never match.

Are you importing your data?

As it is, you can probably make the reports you need from the one table using subsummaries.

But when I try to do subsummaries as I showed in my first post, I still have 5000 datas instead of my number of year, species or breed.

And I wanna do a chart with those subsummaries, so I don't wanna let it like that and have 5000 colomns into my chart, it's not really usefull.
