FM 11 advanced, Win Vista

I’m having trouble with summary data in FM 11. I have a layout that sorts by the correct break fields, but 1) the summary totals in the subsummary part are incorrect, (they display the last value in the column, not the total), and 2) an extra “total” shows up in browse and preview modes near the below the last subsummary part. I’ve attached a file showing views of the preview and layout mode.

The break field “category” is a related field. I don’t know if this is the problem. The body part contains the cost data.

I know that in FM 11 you can view the subsummary data in browse mode. Could this be responsible for “total” appearing at the bottom of the sheet. How can I stop this?

It's hard to tell without seeing the file, but it seems you have the same field (Budget) in both the body part and the subsummary part. The subsummary part should show a summary field defined as Total of Budget.

As for the extra total at the bottom, check your data - it looks like you have some empty records there.

Yes, there was an extra record. Thanks for your help. How can I attach the FM file so you can see it?

The layout in question is "Budget for previous year".

There is no such layout, but I did find the "Baseline Cost Data Input" layout and the problem there is exactly as stated in my first post. Change the field in the subsummary part from Budget to BudgetSum.

That did it. Thanks for your help. I feel like a dummy making such an amateur mistake. Back to FM 101!
