Newbie Here, Importing Question, Strange Problem

Featured Replies

Hello Everone:

I made a script for importing data into the database from ZenCart.

I am using "Update matching records in Found Set" checked and with "Add remaining data as new records" checked in the Import Field Mapping. I am using using the customerID (=) as the match.

When I import I receive new data in no problem but on the first match (previous customer) it duplicates the customers data within the database but if there is a second customer previous customer in the import it doesn't duplicate the data.

Any ideas what I am doing wrong?

Sincerely,

Bryan

Bryan:

Are you sure all the records your looking to update are in the FOUND SET?

Hello Dom:

Yes. I hand coded the csv data with a couple of duplicate clients to see what was going on. Due to the number of tables from products, client data etc. I do 5 imports 4 dealing with customer, payments etc, and one for products.

I = the client number to hopefully prevent the new data from creating new accounts but it seems to work only for each old client after the first one which gives a new account.

Not sure why hopefully someone out there knows.

BTW: Is it that I need to upgrade from FM 9.0.3?

Sincerely,

Bryan Bracken

Can you post an example file (that is 2 files, actually: the CSV source and the .fp7 target)?
