Mark Reed Posted September 29, 2010 Posted September 29, 2010 Ive finally decided I have had enough of the crashes, the lag, the issues with my PC and am moving to a Mac. I know NOTHING about macs. Zippo Ziltch! With that said, I have to ask a very basic question... Will the fp7 files I created with FM for Win open and be able to be used on FM for MAC? Are they any issues or caveats? Any tips or advice to someone coming over from the darkside?
TheTominator Posted September 29, 2010 Posted September 29, 2010 (edited) Will the fp7 files I created with FM for Win open and be able to be used on FM for MAC? Yes. The .fp7 files are completely cross-platform. I move them between Windows and Mac very often. Are they any issues or caveats? There are some features that are platform-specific such as absolute filepaths and certain script steps (Send DDE Execute). For the most part, there shouldn't be any show-stoppers. Addendum Edit: Oh yeah... plug-ins. If you use any plug-ins, you'll need to acquire the Mac OS X versions of these (if available). Edited September 29, 2010 by Guest
Lee Smith Posted September 29, 2010 Posted September 29, 2010 Less flashing. Graphic Cards are not longer an issue. No additional add ons such as sound cards, WIFI (Airport). You don't have to worry as much about Viruses, Worms, etc. The videos at Apple are helpful to introduce you things like Spaces, Dashboad, etc. Link
