This is a little hard to explain.

I change a starter solution database layout by adding some fields in the table and check boxes on the layout. now in browse mode when i click on of the check boxes all of the ones i added highlight black. and you can't read them. i been playing with it for some hours now and cant figure it out.

Sounds as if the checkboxes need a white fill.

Those starter solutions with black backgrounds have bitten many people. It is fine except that many of the field backgrounds are set to transparent so, upon entry of the field, they turn black as well. Changing the field to opaque or, as Barbara suggests, changing the background color (which also then changes background to opaque) should do the trick.
