Update FMP10.0.3.303 to FMP11.0.2.220

Featured Replies

I need some of the knowledge floating around this forum to walk me through a seemingly simple task of updating 90+ client machines to FMP11. For the last 6 years I have walked to every workstation to install updates to FileMaker software and I'm getting tired of it taking ALL of my time. There has to be a better way. I'm not a network administrator and I know zilch about group policies. So I need someone to dumb it down for me if it is, in fact, possible to automate/push FM software version updates to clients via the server or startup script.

And just for my knowledge, the "AutoUpdate" plug-in that is installed with FileMaker under Edit>Preferences>Plug-ins is only to push 3rd party plug in updates to clients...correct?

Thanks in advance for any assistance you can provide.

Sorry, I don't know of any solution to this problem (besides delegating the job to somebody else).

Would be interested to hear one, though.

James

You'll also need to review the FileMaker silent/network install documentation and different settings.

Network install setup

If this is over your head then you'll have to hire some help I'm afraid or invest in something like Microsoft SMS.
