LiveOak Posted September 21, 2000 Posted September 21, 2000 You will probably have to create a new quote records using scripts to create the indices needed to make the connections to the other two files. As to ways to preserve old addresses, this is a classic invoice problem. When a contact address changes, you don't want to change in on historical invoices, quotes, etc. This is one place where lookups still serve the purpose quite well. -bd
Keith Shelton Posted September 21, 2000 Author Posted September 21, 2000 Thanks for comments. I am not very experienced with FM. I have Contact Record automatically creating a Quote record, using scripts to copy and paste Company ID into new Quote and then return to Contacts and do the same with Contact ID. I am using Look Ups in Quote record. This all works but I am wondering if there is a more elegant way of doing it. Also are there any good books on FM which you could recommend? Thanks again.
