December 9, 201015 yr Newbies Hi there I am a complete novice and i am reading a teaching myself the in’s and out’s of filemaker.. I am using filemaker pro 11 and what i am trying to do is: I have designed a front page where all my icons are connected and scripted to other fields in my database.. The problem I am having is, writing a find script so, when i enter a text in a find field on the front page it performs a find and pulls up all the information from the file and shows the database information.. .. In other words, i am creating a find field which relates to another find field... I hope that makes sense!!!.... In my language!! I have a front page, and it looks nice. I have a one record database where i have over sixty fields pertaining different information.. From my front page, i want to be able to do a search on a name field which will then directly pull up all the information from the files and shows the person name or ID and at the same time, skips to the front page and shows the database info in the database recod... I do hope i have explained myself if not please ask me for more info... Magic dancer

December 16, 201015 yr Author Newbies Hi There me again... I'm just back from a nice Short Hot holiday and thanks for the response.. I am posting my front page so that you can see what i'm trying to achieve... I will try to explain again (which is sometimes dificult to do!!) I want to enter a name lets say " Smith" in the field "Surname" and that field performs a "Find function" and opens the "Smith" Database record portraying all relevant details concerning "Smith".. The point here is that, when the "Find Function" is performed the "Smith" record should show the " Smith" Database page at the same time bypassing the Front page. I want to use the "front page" as a "Search Engine" pulling out all information from " Claims, Hire, Recovery, etc" and displaying database records... Hopefully this makes more sense... Magic Dancer
December 19, 201015 yr I don't have the energy for a long reply right now, but... It looks like you are just going to need to do a scripted find when the user clicks a button. My guess is that you will perform the find in a different table depending on what icon they press. Also, I'm assuming your one record database is kind of like a "Globals" table (that's what I call mine anyways). If it is really a separate database file, you could just add that table to your main database. In this table you should make the search criteria fields global.
