I have a group excel files with 3 pieces of data for each record, 4 records total. When I import into Filemaker 9, I get the first records data clear, then the other 3 records are missing data. If I try another excel file with more records, say 20, I'll loose the data in the last 3 records sometimes, and sometimes I get all the data. All of the excel files that are being imported are created exactly the same through an export from MS Access program. Before converting from FM 5 to FM 9, it worked perfectly. Any suggestions?

Thanks

I get teh same random results. I've now gone back and opened our previous version of FM6 and compared the script steps and they are identical. If I try to manually import the records, I get the same results. I've carefully checked the field import order and it's correct. Here's a sample of the excel data I'm trying to import --

Job No. Item No. Qty

12345 2345 3

12345 2110 1

12345 2009 2

The "Item No" is the unique field in the FM database. If I were to import these 3 records, FM will confirm that 3 records were inported with no errors, but when I look at the data, only the first record in FM has the data, the other 2 records are blank

I have matching fields in the current FM database and am "adding" records only. The format of the data fields is the same, i.e. all numbers.

I'm attaching a PDF file with screen shots of the entire process - manual import. See if this helps explain it. I'll post actual files later. gotta go to appointment.

FM9 allows XLS and XLSX files to be imported, whereas FM6 only had XLS.

Any help?

These are all ".xls" files with the exact same data fields, but varying numbers of records. My problem is occurring sporadically, not consistnetly, using the exact same process. All of the excel files are generated from the same program, and have been for 7 years now. We're running a network based database with 15+ users. There are 3 of us that generally will import this data, and we all are all having the same issues.
