Ocean West Posted December 14, 2010 Posted December 14, 2010 I upgrade the server with Sphinx - so the the site now supports full text search, you can find posts with ESS / SQL / LET / GET - you know the 4 character limit has been lifted. However the site re-indexes every 15 minutes so some active terms may take a while to update. enjoy.
comment Posted December 15, 2010 Posted December 15, 2010 As of now, I am getting: "There have been 0 entries in the last 24 hours" after clicking "Today's activity". Extending the period to "last week" returns 139 entries, with post #5 in this thread: http://fmforums.com/forum/index.php/topic/75261-bulk-adding-new-child-records/page__pid__356436#entry356436 being the last one. According to: http://www.fmforums.com/recent there have been 4 posts more recent than that.
Ocean West Posted December 15, 2010 Author Posted December 15, 2010 it's an issue with the Sphinx index - looking in to it.
comment Posted December 15, 2010 Posted December 15, 2010 It seems to be working now. BTW, you have made me quite puzzled by moving my post in here. At first I though it has disappeared. Now I see it's been raised to prophetical status... : EDIT: Spoke too soon: this entire thread is not listed under recent activity.
Ocean West Posted December 15, 2010 Author Posted December 15, 2010 I merged the posts as they were about the same issue - sorry for confusing you. I am still trying to dial in the settings to make things mesh properly. The sphinx server runs a cron task at 4am does a full reindex of the site - then traditionally every 15 minutes deltas are performed. I have modified that to every 7 minutes. to see how that works for the day.
comment Posted December 15, 2010 Posted December 15, 2010 I am afraid this is not working at all. I am getting various results at random. Right now, I see that "There have been 0 entries in the last [anything]". Earlier, I saw two adjacent entries with nothing in between them - but I know for certain that there were two posts in the interim (these appear on the Forums page).
Ocean West Posted December 15, 2010 Author Posted December 15, 2010 Sorry - been working on it - had to drop the index and rebuilding it.
comment Posted December 15, 2010 Posted December 15, 2010 Sorry - didn't see your "Men at work" sign...
comment Posted December 17, 2010 Posted December 17, 2010 I see the sign is gone - but I don't think this is working properly yet. These two screenshots were taken a couple of seconds apart. Note that each has some content that is NOT listed in the other one.
