lkenoother Posted December 18, 2010 Posted December 18, 2010 Ok, I've tried to create the relationship that allows data to be entered via a relationship from my BASIC PO INFORMATION table to my APPROVALS table, I created a key id in each table and matched them up and nothing seems to be working, PLEASE HELP. I have attached a clone copy of my database. Username: clone PW: clone I can't seem to attach an fp7 file? How is that possible. Please let me know or I will email the clone directly.

lkenoother Posted December 18, 2010 Author Posted December 18, 2010 Actually while I was awaiting an answer I figured out my problem. Was clicking both sides of the allow creation. Another question, in my portal I have a field called STATUS, in that STATUS field I mark some of my items as PENDING. I need to print a report that shows every PENDING item in each record. Is there a way to do that? I've tried before and can't seem to figure it out. And thanks for getting back to me.
comment Posted December 18, 2010 Posted December 18, 2010 Produce the report from the child table: find the pending items, sort them by their parent, and use a sub-summary by parent part in your layout for the parent info.

Thank you for your help, you probably just saved me hours frustration. Have a good night.

Ok, I went into Perform Find mode in the portal: selected PENDING. Went to print my pending approvals report and it seems as if the report is only pulling the "PENDING" only from the first line in the portal and not all the lines that have a PENDING below it. Any thoughts?
comment Posted December 18, 2010 Posted December 18, 2010 I am afraid you may be missing the main point here: go to a layout of the child table and do the find there. Do the report from this table, too. No portals are involved in this. I am a little confused by your table names, though. Shouldn't it be Orders (parent) and OrderItems (child)?
lkenoother Posted December 18, 2010 Author Posted December 18, 2010 Ok, thought I was doing it right... played with it some more, but no success. I've posted a clone. Layout is called Pending Approvals. Script on Reports tab is called Pending Approval Report, it is set to create a PDF on your desktop. I'm trying to generate a report that would ideally be by PO# and then PO Line Letter(which I haven't set yet).Access Info:UN: clonePW: cloneThanks in advance.clonecopy.fp7.zip
comment Posted December 18, 2010 Posted December 18, 2010 1. Your report layout should show records from the APPROVALS table and set to List view. 2. After finding, you must sort records by PO#. 3. I didn't get the thing about PO Line Letter: this field is in the orders table, and therefore common to all child approvals. Same thing applies to the style number. clonefix.zip
lkenoother Posted December 18, 2010 Author Posted December 18, 2010 Thank you for your help! Will give that a go. Worked perfectly!
