I am upgrading from filemaker 6 to filemaker 10 on a powerpc G4. I have an invoice form with a header and details in a portal. The first line of the portal will not print. Seems to work fine in Filemaker 11 on an Intel Mac. Any suggestions. Thanks in advance.

Is the first row of portal showing in browse mode?

Are rows 2 and beyond in the portal printing where they should (ie leaves a blank space for first row) or are they collapsing up?

Yes it shows in Browse mode. It is moving the 2nd line up to where the first line is. There is nothing turned on in 'Sliding/Printing' for either the fields or the Portal itself and the portal is showing from 1 to 20 lines ie) not starting at 2. Thanks.

Well, that should work. I suggest you gather some more information, e.g.

- does this happen with a newly created file, or only with a specific file (converted from fp5?)

- is it only during actual printing, or can you see the flaw in preview mode and/or when printing to PDF

- what happens if you clone the file and enter some data into the clone

- what happens if you recover the clone (using version 11)

It would be a lot easier to help if you can supply a copy or clone of your file.

I made a new file and could not recreate the problem.

The flaw shows in preview mode.

The file is a brand new file that I copied and pasted scripts, value lists and layouts into.

I recovered the file but that did not get rid of the problem.

The same file works just fine in Filemaker 11. I'm going to move them to 11 I guess.

My guess would be that the layout is corrupted, and remained corrupted when pasted. See what happens if you remove the portal and create a new one instead - or recreate the entire layout from scratch.
