Find Records WITHOUT a related record?

Featured Replies

It seems that this should be simple, but I'm stumped.

I'd like to find a list of records, and then narrow this find down to those records that do not have a child record in a related table.

Any suggestions?

Find those that do, and omit them.

Find those that do, and omit them.

I've been working down that path for an hour or so now - but I can't seem to make that work.

I need to see only those records that have no child - after a previous find. I can't seem to keep the parameters of the first find.

How do I omit a certain sub-set of records from the first find?

FOUND IT.

wow - can't believe I've worked with FM for 15 years, and NEVER used the little "omit" check box on a find request.

I guess you learn something every day - I should go home now....

Use "Constrain Find" in the Records/Requests menu, to "find within the current found set."
