Newbie q? web page & host machine locked together?

Hi,

I'm hosting a database on Mac 0S 9.1 using FM pro 5. Folks access that database on that machine via FM Pro (not via internet.). When I access that DB via WWW on W95, when I do a search using my web browser it changes the set of records selected by the user on the Mac in FM pro. What am I doing wrong?

Thanks

Never drop your gun to hug a grizzly.

You are doing nothing wrong, in fact that's the way it's meant to work. Web Companion "remote controls" the host copy of FMP, performing all the finds and sorts and edits and stuff just like it was sitting on the keyboard typing it all in. You can sit there and watch FMP change mode and enter values as the web users do their thing.

The trouble is your setup: nobody else should be using the database on the host machine.
