March 21, 200124 yr Hi People, Appart from World Domination, my main concern at the min is trying to sort out batch emails to clients using my FM database. What i want to do is send an email, comprising a graphical message and a pdf file, to certain people that i've filtered from the database. To clarify the 'graphical message' bit, what i would want it to be is a web page (that i can capture using IE for windows - the only way that i can figure out to do it) with a pdf file attached (of a couple of web pages turned into a pdf with interactivity etc). I think the way to sort this out is to use a thrid party plug in ... if this is the case, can anyone reccomend which one (I'm on a mac), but also, do you think that this is the best way to achieve what i want? Thanks so much for any help you can give, Slater ps i'll throw in a knighthood for any help!
March 21, 200124 yr I have done a similar thing but the email provides them with a link back to our FTP server for PDF collection, Not all of my customers can handle HTML formatted email. due to "Corporate" security issues etc,

March 21, 200124 yr Author Thanks for the posting. So could i send a normal email with the pdf attached? (by the way, i might not mind those without the HTML/email ability getting it ... i'd have to see how many get sent back and then decide.) And do you use a plug-in to achieve this? Sorry for all the questions ... it's like i'm stalking you! All the best
March 22, 200124 yr On windows I use VBscript to help deal with this, however if the File attachment's name doesn't change you can build this to be automatic within an FMPro script create your email step with the usual To and From subject etc, then click the file attachment and choose the file you wish to use. Make sure you place/update the file in the same folder each time and your script will auto look there when you run the script. The FTP link i mentioned is better for us because we are dealing with many images for our customers and they can change i.e new job numbers etc. If you would like anymore help you can mail me direct at [email protected]
