Is there any solution to get real time (at a pre determined sample time) data continuously from a excel file fild data in to filemaker field with out using import functions.

Hi !

I would also appreciate this kind of solution. There is a big Excel -file containing personnel information which is updated regularly. I cannot force them to abandon Excel and change to FileMaker, but I need that updated information in a FileMaker solution.

So can an Excel file be used somehow directly as an external data source ?

I am also interested in a solution for this. I have to assume that since there is no response that means this is not an option.

You could set up the Excel file as an ODBC data source. You may also want to check out the recurring import feature (requires FileMaker 11).
