File name format in the window menu

Featured Replies

Hi All

My company are still in the process of migrating from FM6 to FM11. We are currently in the process of double entry testing - we have selected users in the office who are doing their daily jobs in FileMaker 6 and FileMaker 11 to test everything behaves as it should do.

However there is one small thing which is causing our users problems... In the Window menu in FileMaker 11 it shows the name of the server the file is being hosted from in brackets. This means that most of the actual file name is obscured - this causes particular problems as we have a large number of files (125) a lot of which have similar names. This means that users may have to click on 3 or 4 file names from the windows menu before they get the file they want to access.

So very useful functionality for me as a developer I quite often have a mixture of hosted and local files open, but very annoying for out users who are only ever logged into hosted files from one server...

Any help more than welcome! Cheers me dears!

The onOpen script in each of the FM11 files can rename the window name...
