Filter records by date range

Newbies

I have 2 textfields with a calander , and now was my idea to see al the records with the date between those 2 dates i selected

Example:

I have a record with :

Date : 01-01-2011 Name : Project:

And one with Date: 08-08-2011

And i select 01-01-2011 - 02-02-2011 in the textfields , then i only want to see the 01-01-2011 record because it's between those 2 dates.

I hope you understand what i mean.

Let's call your two fields Start Date and End Date. Text fields? No, they should be date fields, and probably should be global fields, I'd need more information to be sure.

If the dates you want to see are in a portal, and you have FileMaker 11, then you could filter the portal. Again, need more info, what version of FileMaker are you using? You can set this in your forum profile.

If you have FileMaker 10 or earlier, you'd need to set up the portal's relationship to include >=Start Date and <= End Date.

I have Filemaker 11 and have found some things on making portals with date filter but for some reason its not working.
