Newbies jessPHP Posted June 9, 2011 Newbies Posted June 9, 2011 Hi Friends! Well, I am developing a database, and I'm showing related records in a portal, but when I configure the portal, it have to provide the number of related records. Can you configure the portal so that it could hold a dynamic number of related records? And, of course, without the "Show vertical scroll Bar" option. Thank you very much!!!
bcooney Posted June 9, 2011 Posted June 9, 2011 The setting is for the number of rows to show before the user needs to scroll, not a limit on the number of related records. Without a scroll bar, the user will not be able to see all the related records.
Newbies jessPHP Posted June 9, 2011 Author Newbies Posted June 9, 2011 So, Is it impossible to configure a portal so that it can show a dynamic number of rows?
comment Posted June 9, 2011 Posted June 9, 2011 Yes, it is impossible. You can, however, make the portal tall enough to accommodate the largest number of related records you expect - and make it transparent. But the objects underneath the portal will not slide up to close the empty space when you are in Browse mode.
bcooney Posted June 9, 2011 Posted June 9, 2011 Oh, so that's what you're trying to do. Comment reads between the lines much better than I do. Is this need specific to printing? If so, the printout should be based on the child table.
