DRoberts Posted June 12, 2011 Posted June 12, 2011 Hi, I was wondering if anyone had any ideas how I might capture the current geo-location using FM Go on iPad2. I'm working on a database that would allow people to get out and about with an iPad2 and I want them to capture the current lat/long coordinate when a new record is created. I had thought about running an applescript to extract the georeference from the iOS - but I understand applescript isn't available on these machines. Are there any apps I could shell out to, record the current location and bring that back the information into FM? If this is an option how would I ensure I return to FM Go and remain on the same record? One option I've tried is to take a photograph at the location using the iPad camera then look at the GPS metadata.....but this is too long winded and subject to remembering to click the button (and having to sync the images back to the records) - also I'll end up with hundreds of random photographs just to get a short text string. regards David
Ziphius Posted July 8, 2011 Posted July 8, 2011 I have the same question for the iPhone. FMTouch is able to capture the GPS information from the device itself and enter it into a field in the database. Any such thing for FilemakerGo?
David Jondreau Posted July 8, 2011 Posted July 8, 2011 The Support Group has a pretty good explanation.
