RoadBear Posted September 26, 2001 Posted September 26, 2001 Fonts do not kern the same from PC to MAC. I usually make the file work on a Mac first, then make another layout in the file for the PC version(same file). Then use a script to decide which layout to show or go to based on the status(platform) function.
Kurt Knippel Posted September 26, 2001 Posted September 26, 2001 Perhaps even worse is the quality difference between your HP Laserjet and the brother printer. It is generally better to setup the printing on the worst quality printer. Plus Laser printers have a much wider printable area than do inkjets, so you need to take this into account. On layouts where placement of the elements very important (such as contracts), I have at times created layouts for each platform/printer combination so that they all lokked correct.
pradeep Posted September 27, 2001 Posted September 27, 2001 I have some text which is brought in from MS word on a layout. The layout prints fine on my systems which is a PC and a HP Laser Jet Printer, but on a MAC with Brother Printer the printing comes rastorised and destorted. Is it something wrong with the print driver or the file?? Other layouts print fine on the MAC except for margins which appear totally different from PC. Thank You
