December 6, 200124 yr i have a file with 80,000 records. i have a layout in which each record takes up 1 page. I would like to print to file multiple files in sets of 10,000. . . when i print to file a page range message says that it must fall between 1 and 9999 even though it has 80,000 pages in the file. . . is this just a filemaker bug? or is there something i've missed. thanks. jeremy
December 6, 200124 yr The page number limit is a limitation of the OS, not FileMaker. To print all of your records, select 'Show All Records', then print 'Records being browsed' and print range 'All' - it should print records till your printer runs out of paper or ink - in other words, it will print your records "till the cows come home".
December 7, 200124 yr Author well, that's just it, i don't want to print all records. . . i want to print to file (.ps format) 8 files. . . 1 -10000; 10001-20000; etc. . . what makes you think it's OP system? I believe i've done the same type of thing in word. . . word is just slow and crappy. . . jeremy
December 7, 200124 yr If your records are serial numbered 1 thru 80,000, perform a find on records 1 thru 10,000 then print the records being browsed, then find 10,001 thru 20,000 and print, etc. Then you do not need to specify in the print dialog box.
