There is something very wrong with the way the search works (or doesn't).

For example, I searched for posts with the word "variable" and me as the author. The first (latest) post found is from 19 July 2011. I know I have used the term later than that - in fact, I have used it several times today, a few hours before performing the search.

Even supposing it may take some time to index new posts, I cannot understand why a post from more than 3 days ago was not included in the results:

In another example, I searched for the word "trigger", again with me as the author. The latest result returned is from 21 July 2011. I was sure I have used this term more recently, so I took the trouble to go over my posts manually - and sure enough, I found no less than 8 newer posts with the word "trigger" (see links below). The oldest of these posts is from 23 July 2011 - i.e. about two weeks ago.

This is not what we expected from the new version, is it?

I turned Sphinx search indexing OFF, and went back to traditional search for today please try your tests again to compare the results.

Sphinx is indexed every 15 minutes via cron job so some times posts may not show up until the server had reindexed the site.

It seems to be working now. Of course, I cannot tell for sure unless I catch it not working again...

Sphinx is indexed every 15 minutes

Then two weeks should be more than enough, no?
