I am attempting to limit selection of calendar days to only use "Friday" and only in the future and not in the past. Is it possible to do this with Filemaker's built-in calendar drop down using conditional formatting?

If so, can someone help me with how the calculation might look? If not, can you share your thoughts?

I don't think so. But you could have a value list of n upcoming Fridays.

Could it be done in validation? I could get it to keep from entering dates in past, but could it also be written to select Fridays only?

No.

You could do validation - but it wouldn't prevent users from selecting ANY day. Then they would get a validation error message, which can be pretty annoying.
