Command Line fmsadmin tool not working on Lion Server

Featured Replies

hello,

I am aware that FileMaker Server 11 is probably not certified for Lion Server. I am also aware that Lion Server is just an app not a separate OS. I am just trying to confirm if the issue I am having just a problem with my server.

I have installed FileMaker Server 11.0v3 on Mac OSX 10.7 Lion Server.

if I run the command

fmsadmin -u Admin -p pswd LIST files

I get this error

fmsadmin: Permission denied.

Error: 9

I am absolutely certain that I have the right user name and password. It is just not working. I already re-installed FileMaker server.

Can anyone confirm that fmsadmin command line tool works on Lion Server?

Thanks

Todd

Todd, try restarting the machine I've seen this error with FMS on OS X starting with Leopard, you can take a look at

/Library/FileMaker Server/Admin/admin-master-tomcat/logs

for clues.

I'm using FMS on Lion, not Lion Server though. I'm setting up Lion server soon, I'll give it a try there as well.

Just FYI you can also use VM Ware Fusion and Lion / Lion Server in a virtual environment for testing purposes, too.
