Import external FM table and data into another FM db

Hi,

I have inherited an older FM database fp7 that was created locally by a previous staff member who was self taught in FM. She awkwardly (for our purposes) created 4 external databases (tables). I need to import these tables back into the master db along with the associated data. I have Filemaker Pro Advanced 11. I have an inkling of how to do the tables, i.e. by creating blank internal tables and layouts identical to the old external tables with the same relationships. But how do I import the data back into those specific tables while retaining the established connections? In other words, one external table is a list of groups and which individuals belong to that group. How do I bring over the data so that each individual in the main table will still connect to the group(s) that he/she belongs to? Must I go through 3000+ records and manually add the group memberships?

Thanks,

Orientsee

Thanks,

That was just what I was looking for.

Molto bene!

Prior to version 7, there were no Tables, and so we used multiple files instead. I'm guessing this solution was made in v5 or before.
