September 24, 201114 yr I have a value list displaying names in a repeating field. My problem is that with the list containing, for example: Bill Wyman, Keith Richard, Mick Jagger, Charlie Watts and Brian Jones, no matter who I highlight, I always get Charlie Watts (who, you've probably guessed, lives in repetition 1). Why am I able to see and highlight content that I can't use? Am I asking too much of repeating fields? Or, am I overlooking something?
September 24, 201114 yr You should probably not use a repeating field for [whatever this is]. Still, what you describe shouldn't be happening. Can you post a file showing the problem?
September 24, 201114 yr Author I thought I'd better create a simple database that replicated the problem to send to you. As I built it, the problem re-occured, but it became obvious that it was caused by my use of a second field in the value list (whether that field was also a repeating field or not). So I got rid of the need for it, by filtering out contacts belonging to other companies, a more sensible solution anyway. Problem fixed. Valuable lesson learnt - when stuck in a complex database and can't see the wood for the trees, create a temporary simple one with the same situation in it (must try that next time before bothering the forum). Thanks for your time yet again.
