RowN Posted October 8, 2011 Posted October 8, 2011 Hi all, I'm hoping this is an easy fix. I have two databases the main one, we'll call MAIN has a radio box on it. On another database, we'll call SECOND has a portal to MAIN. As part of the portal is these radio boxes. I want whatever is checked in the radio box in MAIN to appear in SECOND portal and vice versa. the problem I am having is if I check the box in MAIN it turns off the checked box in SECOND portal. If I check the box in SECOND portal it turns it off in MAIN. Any thoughts on why this is happening? Thank you.
doughemi Posted October 8, 2011 Posted October 8, 2011 What are the fields that the radio buttons are attached to, and what is the relationship between MAIN and SECOND?
RowN Posted October 11, 2011 Author Posted October 11, 2011 Hi, the fields are just regular text fields if that is what you mean. they're not calculations or number fields. I believe SECOND might be the parent and MAIN the child (I should have thought of that when I was writing the first post). I've tried switching it around but it doesn't make a difference. Is there a better way to do this? Thanks.
doughemi Posted October 11, 2011 Posted October 11, 2011 In order to get help on this, you'll have to tell us the specific fields involved in each table, and the specific relationship between them. Or better yet, post a copy of your file with dummy data (since you're a member).
RowN Posted October 11, 2011 Author Posted October 11, 2011 Hi doughemi, I've attached the two databases involved in a zip file. you may need to reconnect them in the relationships table, but I'm sure that won't cause you too much grief. The Edit Management-test file should open at the Data Entry Layout. It's still a work in progress so please forgive the layouts and if you have any suggestions on a better way to manage it all I am very much open to it. Thanks so much. Edit Management-test.zip
doughemi Posted October 11, 2011 Posted October 11, 2011 The first value in your Take Approval value list in Sound Report is "Circle", but the value in Circle Take value list in Edit Management-test is "Circled"
RowN Posted October 12, 2011 Author Posted October 12, 2011 I really should have seen that.... thanks for looking. I've got a lot to learn. Trying to get these working together has been interesting to say the least. I'm also trying to figure out how, when I enter the scene number in the Codebook I can get it to automatically look up the scene number in the scene list. Thank you very much with your help on that. I really appreciate it.
