Opening Word in a Container

Featured Replies

I am housing Word documents in a container field. However, when I try to open them there is a problem and something funky happens. Am I doing somethin wrong here...? Thanks...

Dr.L

Need more info. How is the word file inserted into the container field? How is it stored? What version of FMP?

Usually I'm pretty happy when something funky happens, but that's probably because I'm "of a certain age".

Help! No assistance here, no one has any answers as usual? :hmm:

Doesn't anyone know what's occurring here?

Dr.L

You *really* haven't explained what the problem is. Telling us that "all works well with a PDF and/or JPG" isn't describing the problem with the word files.

Don't drag and drop, use the insert file command.

Are you storing the file in the container? Or are you storing a reference only? Drag and drop suggests you are storing the files themselves (but we are trying to find out if it is just manual or whether script assists?). I do not believe that double-clicking the container will open them unless you store 'reference only'.
