Lasso Setup Configuration Considerations

I have done some researching and it seems the best way to publish FM databases to the web is by using Lasso. My company needs more flexibility that can't be offered just by using the instant web publishing. I wonder if anybody has any other alternatives besides Lasso.

I've also done some researching, and it was recommended to have an RAIC setup where you have FM Server running on one computer, the same FM databases hosted by clients running FM Unlimited, and the web server on another computer with Lasso installed.

-Does the FM databases in the client computers have to be opened for lasso to access it? Does FM server open them for you, so you don't have to manually open all the databases in each client hosting the FM databases?

I was worried about the limitation of FM Unlimited, since only one instance of FM Unlimited can be opened which limits to only 50 databases that can be opened on one client.

-What happens when you go over the 50 database limit in the RAIC? Will i need to set up another seperate RAIC and say put the 51 st database there, and I can connect the 2nd RAIC to the FM Server hosting the 1st RAIC?

-FM server has a limit of 125 database files. If i have an RAIC setup where 50 databases are opened on one client running FM unlimited, and the same set of 50 databases are opened on another client in the RAIC, it just used up 50 (and not 100) out of the FM Server 125 database limit right?

As you can see I am still unsure about a lot of things. I am concerned about expandability. Any corrections and suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Lasso still need FM 4 or FM 5 Unlimited

FM Server will automatically open all databases

You can have more Unlimiteds, unlimited number -- If your budget will be high enough

Right

You can have unlimited number of IIS with WebConnector and served by Unlimited number of Unlimiteds fed by FM db from Unlimited number of servers.
